Mountain Ridge Little League (MRLL) has done it! They continue their unbeaten streak and have become the first team in Nevada history to make it to the Little League World Series after beating Northern California 11-2 in the Western Regional Final Saturday night.

MRLL would put the heat on early, scoring nine runs in the top of the first inning which was too much for No. Cal (Pacifica-American LL from the San Francisco area) to overcome. They would get it heated off by scoring off a bases loaded walk by Dillon Jones, a walk by Drew LaSpaluto, an RBI single by Josh Zuehlsdorff, a groundout by Dallan Cave, a wild pitch, an RBI single by Zachary Hare, and a three-run home run by Austin Kryszczuk - all in the first inning.

No. Cal would score their only two runs in the bottom of the 1st as a pitching trio of Brennan Holligan, Zachary Hare and Josh Zuehlsdorff would allow only 2 runs, 5 hits and 1 walk (off balls) the entire game.

An RBI single by Alex Barker in the second inning would put MRLL up 10-2 and a Home Run to Center Field by Bradley Stone in the Top of the 6th would put the game away for good.

Head Coach, Ashton Cave had this to say after the win: "We have never been (to the Little League World Series). But we are excited, and very hopeful that we will have continued success and fun. This is a once in a life time opportunity, and we will embrace each moment. Dreams are coming true for these players. What a journey. Go Ridge!"

Nicole Cave, Dallan Cave's mom and Head Coach Ashton Cave's wife, had this to say, "I am just still trying to process this whole journey. It has been long and hard at times. Yes, our son does play on this team, but really when you volunteer so much of your family time you basically adopt the whole team. So we have 13 additional sons, along with our three daughters, our son Dallan that is on the team, and our 4 month old son Dawson. This is huge for these boys and for Nevada. My heart is filled with admiration for all the hard work and dedication of all that is involved. I love these boys like they're my own and am so excited for them!"

The Ridge dominated the entire regional: beating Utah 11-1 in Game 1, Arizona 6-5 in Game 2 (only close game), Northern California 13-2 in Game 3, Southern California 8-4 in Game 4 and Southern Califonia again 5-1 in the Semi-Final.

The team now heads to South Williamsport, PA where they will face South Dakota (Midwest - Canyon Lake LL, Rapid City) in Game 4 of the opening round on Thursday at 4pm PST at Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport... Game will be aired live on ESPN2.

The Winner of that game will face the winner of Game 2 between Illinois (Great Lakes - Jackie Robinson LL, Chicago) and Washington (Northwest - Lynnwood Pacific, Lynnwood) and will be played on Saturday August 17th at 11am PST. Loser of Game 4 will have a second chance and will face the Loser of Game 2 in a Double Elimination Round.

Nevada has never played at the Little League Baseball World Series and becomes the 42nd state to send a champion to the World Series, the only states to never play the tournament are Alaska, Colorado, Kansas, North Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and the District of Columbia.

Mountain Ridge's win over Pacifica American also ends a three-year run of a team from California advancing to South Williamsport.

The 68th Little League Baseball World Series begins on Thursday, Aug. 14 in South Williamsport, Pa., with the Championship Game scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, August 24th, airing on ABC. The World Series will culminate the year-long celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Little League. For more information on the Series and to follow the action live, visit llbws.org. Reaction's from Coaches, Players, Parents and Family

"So proud of the boys and this accomplishment of making Nevada little league history! This team has chemistry, dedication, work ethic and commitment to playing the game they all love. It showed in the final game in San Bernadino knocking off Northern California from the 1st inning on. This will be something they remember forever and no one can take away from them. Now they move on to the big stage in PA. Our awesome coaches will have them ready for this experience of a lifetime!" (Dustin Clayton, Dominic's dad)

"I can remember winning states last year and sitting with my son Drew, he looked at me and said, next year we are going to do this again and go to Williamsport. Neither one of realized what that would actually mean. My son never cries but he was out there on the field with the rest of the team after that final out. These boys and coaches worked hard all year to make this happen and to actually accomplish this is unbelievable. Somebody pinch me. Why not us?" (Drew LaSpaluto's dad, Rick LaSpaluto)

"This is truly an answer to prayer! We are so proud of this Mountain Ridge team! We made history - Hallelujah!!! Go #27!" (Josiah Cromwick's mom, Rhonda Cromwick)

"This is a dream come true for our baseball family and my son. It was the best feeling I've felt to watch my child accomplish one of his dreams." (Zachary Hares mom, Michelle Hare)
