After a disappointing loss Friday night to Mountain Ridge, it was do or die for the Summerlin North 9/10 All Stars. However, on this night, the team would not be denied against a talented Western team who eliminated host team Lone Mountain the night before.

During the first inning, the North attacked the ball early and jumped to a 6-0 lead. Western matched North's efforts; responding with eight runs to end the first inning of play 8-6 lead. From that moment, the team went into over drive and took matters into their own hands. Tied 14-14 in the third inning, the North turned the tables and responded with a four-run, fourth inning. The bats never let up as the team racked up 22 hits and 15 RBIs. Karthic Gondy went 4 for 5. Shea Keyes, Alyssa Maillaro, Ozzy Zwislak, Davis Whetten all had three hits on the night. Chris Frankot, Paisley Nickelson, Andrew Ayson and Bronson Mariano also had great success against Western pitching.

In relief duty, Shea Keyes took the mound and was untouchable through three innings. Keyes gave up only two hits and no runs. Just a few weeks ago, Shea was struck in the face by a hit ball during the TOC Championship game. Shea was poised and demonstrated inspirational leadership during his three innings of work. Key defensive plays from Kade DeSantis, Karthic Gondy and Chris Frankot helped secure the 21-14 victory and spot in the championship game.

This is only the second time in the league's 20 year history that the 9/10 All Stars team has made it to the championship game.

Players include: Bottom Row (L to R) Kade DeSantis, Bronson Mariano, CJ Smith, Davis Whetten, Jackson Tanko, Andrew Ayson
Middle Row Chris Frankot, Karthic Gondy, Ozzy Zawislak, Shea Keyes, Paisley Nickelson, Jake Paszek, Alyssa Maillaro
Top row: Coach Chris Trenton, Manager Joe Ayson and coach Manny Abeyta.

Please come support the team Monday night 7pm at Children's memorial park and don't forget to wear your SNLL colors.
