On June 17th and 18th, 2013 LVSF partnered with the Day of Champions to provide a free 2-day football camp at Clark HS for over 200 underprivilged youth ages 7-14, though this wonderful camp was open to all youth regardless of financial status. LVSF provided local logistical support for the camp since the camp organizers are based out of Oklahoma.

Each participant was taught and supervised by DAY OF CHAMPIONS football staff which consists of some of the top Division I-II-III & NAIA collegiate coaches in the country, along with past Oklahoma University football players, and past & current NFL players.

The LVSportz Foundation partnered with the camp this year as part of our Positive And Safe Sports Program (aka PASS) Sports Organization Outreach and talked to the kids and parents about proper Hydration and Preventing Heat Illness at the beginning of the camp and at the conclusion of the first day we spoke to them about Concussions where our YSSA Sasha Pina shared her story with the group… We also handed out important information on sports safety to parents and athletes that included vital information on preventing overuse injuries, heat illness, concussions and other info specifically geared towards youth football participation.

Throughout the camp LVSF made sure all participants got adequate cool down and hydration periods. Kids showing the beginning signs of overheating or dehydration were removed from activity by LVSF until they were cooled and hydrated.

Children attending the camp received a Free Camp T-shirt, Free Breakfast (fruit cup) each day, Free Lunch (sandwich & chips) each day, Water, Free Electrolyte Replacement Drinks provided by SPORTS BLAST and a Free Shaved Ice by KONA ICE LAS VEGAS.

MOBILE MISTING of LAS VEGAS provided 2 huge misting fans to help keep the kids cool. Also on site was SAM'S CLUB #6382 (Spring Mtn.) who provided some snacks, water and discounted memberships. WATER PROS provided as additional water fill station
