Heat FC Coach Eddie Henderson has been doing humanitarian work. In February of 2008 Coach Eddie Traveled to Peru as a US speaker for the Black History Month - Soccer Clinics, Observation and Consultation. The aim of this event was to help the Afro Peruvian at risk youth change negative conducts by positively influencing them through street soccer and soccer clinics. The soccer clinics included practices as well as civic education information to help youth understand the importance of practicing democratic values in their communities. At the end of this program they were able to give out donated soccer balls, uniforms, training shirts, some soccer shoes and cones for training.

Last summer Coach Eddie traveled to Namibia as a part of the Kick in Healthy Lifestyles program. The program's goal was to provide the kids with education on healthy lifestyles and healthy choices to prevent HIV/AIDS, the importance of education and being productive citizens. On this trip to Africa Eddie brought donations from Heat FC parents and players along with Southern Nevada Soccer Associations' HUYS enabled Eddie to give away more than 100 soccer ball and 324 pairs of shoes. This picture shows some of the players that received the donations.

This summer with the help of the State Department, Coach Eddie will be going back to Africa. He will be collecting donations via Futbol4hope to both ship in advance and take with him for these needy players.

As a club we will again be collecting new and used soccer equipment for this purpose. We are extremely proud to have Coach Eddie as a part of Heat FC/SNSA. He exemplifies the values we deem important in our organization. If you have equipment that you would like to donate please contact Coach Eddie through our website (www.heatfcnevada.com)
