The Las Vegas Legends invite local soccer players to try out for the team’s third season.

Open to all players ages 16 and above, tryouts will take place at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26 and Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 9 p.m., followed by a Legends Tryout Tournament at noon Saturday, Aug. 31 for players who make it through the first two days of tryouts. Tryouts will be held at Las Vegas Indoor Soccer, 1400 N. Rampart Blvd. The registration cost is $60 per player, which includes a tournament fee and Las Vegas Legends t-shirt.

Practices will begin in September and the Legends’ first preseason game is scheduled for Sunday, October 12. Prospective players can register for tryouts or obtain for more information by calling (702) 545-7979 or visiting www.lasvegaslegends.com.

“We are looking for fresh, raw talent to join us this year,” said Meir Cohen, Las Vegas Legends’ General Manager and President. “On the heels of two back-to-back championship seasons, our goal is to continue to be successful, and grow the Legends into the most popular local sports attraction in Las Vegas. We need local talent to help us do that!” he exclaimed.

This summer, the Legends announced the team has joined the Major Arena Soccer League, a newly formed super league of 23 professional indoor arena soccer teams from across the United States and Mexico. Major Arena Soccer League will play 20 regular season games and the teams will be divided into multiple divisions based on geography. Three teams from each division will make the playoffs.

The MASL season begins in October and will run through February 2015. The Legends’ first home game is Sunday, Oct. 26.
