pll-cardinalsLast night was a very emotional night for one local baseball team when a very young player, 8 year old Spencer Melvin, from the Peccole Little League AA Cardinals lost his life from a massive heart attack. Spencer had collapsed Tuesday night just before a game while walking from his car to the field at Rainbow Family Park.

Medics and volunteers (including his older brother and dad) tried everything to save him but were unable to revive him. He later passed away at a local hospital due to heart failure. His father, Bob Melvin, says Spencer had a heart problem that noone knew about. The Cardinals would like to again extend a thank you to all the parents who ran to the aid of the child.

Redrock Little League is holding a fundraiser luncheon at Rainbow Family Park (Oakey Boulevard just west of Rainbow Boulevard) from 12pm to 6pm. The cost is $5 per plate with all the proceeds going to Spencer's family.

All of you that are supporters of Little League or Club Baseball please come out and show your support for this family. We know everyone is on different teams or leagues but when a family loses a life this precious it hits us all close to home. Thanks to Lone Mountain Little League in supporting this event with their donations! May God bless this family! Our prayers and thoughts are with his family, the team and anyone who knew him...

Any donations are greatly appreciated and will immediately go to Spencer’s Family. Check’s can be made payable to “Peccole Little League” and please note on check it’s for SPENCER.

This event give children that may not have been able to play in a sport a chance to get out there and be active. I have actually looked to find a business that incl...
